Higher Education/Colleges

A number of two and four-year colleges and universities, including the University of Memphis, offer classes in Millington through Navy College .

Navy College

Navy College is located at the Naval Support Activity Mid-South and will assist students in pulling together all credits earned in Navy schools, Navy rating experience, previous college credits, and CLEP/DANTES Examination Program to help the student achieve their degree. The Navy and Navy College provide space and support for seven colleges and universities as listed below, along with the degrees they offer.

Crichton College - Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management

Park University - Bachelor of Science Degree in Management, Management/Computer Information Systems and Management/Human Resources

Southwest Tennessee Community College - Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology, Mid-Management Technology, Business and Commerce Technology

Southern Illinois University at Carbondale - Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology and Health Care Management

University of Arkansas at Fayetteville - Master of Science in Operations Management

University of Memphis - Required courses leading to the bachelor of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership and Technology Management Services; Master of Business Administration; Master of Public Administration and Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Leadership

Webster University - Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Human Resource Management.

University of Memphis

Through a program of off-campus classes, the University of Memphis offers classes in a number of convenient locations including Millington.

The University of Memphis offers 15 bachelor's degrees in more than 50 majors and 70 concentrations, master's degrees in 46 subjects and doctoral degrees in 21 disciplines, in addition to the Juris Doctor (law) and a specialist degree in education. The University of Memphis main campus is located in Memphis, just a few miles from Millington, on 1,160 acres with nearly 200 buildings at more than four sites

Southwest Tennessee Community College

Southwest Tennessee Community College has fully accredited programs with small class sizes and a broad range of degree and certificate programs. In Millington, classes are held at Millington Center, Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Bldg 241, and Room 125.
Special programs in fine arts, criminal justice, the allied health sciences, nursing, information technologies, engineering technologies, automotive technology and business studies are offered. In addition, a variety of noncredit continuing education courses, workshops and seminars are offered throughout the year

Their Continuing Education and Economic Development Center (CEED) provides business, industry and individuals with hands on training and skills.

Crichton College

Crichton began in 1941 as a Bible training center, expanded to a Bible Institute in 1948, and became a four-year Bible College in 1960. As Mid-South Bible College, it was first accredited by the American Association of Bible Colleges in 1971 and subsequently by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1986.

Reflecting its new comprehensive and liberal arts nature, the college changed its name to Crichton College in 1987 and in 1989 moved to 6655 Winchester Road in Memphis, Tennessee.

Then in March of 2002, Crichton College moved to its newest location at 255 N. Highland in the heart of Memphis. The new campus now provides expanded facilities and services including a 1,700 seat auditorium, over 100,000 square feet of expanded classroom and office space, and much more.
