• Of a total of thirty-four areas in which the school system is evaluated, thirty-two are rated exemplary or above average.
• SCS students scored above the state and national average in all twenty-four achievement categories.
• There were no areas in which the system’s academic performance decreased from the previous year.

Over the past decade, the Shelby County School District has received numerous awards and has outperformed Tennessee’s largest school districts.
