Connecting with I-40 and I-240 in Memphis is US 51, a divided four-lane north/south road. US 51 is designated as part of the planned corridor for the I-69 Mid-Continent Highway that will stretch from Port Huron, Michigan to the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas and Mexico. When completed, this interstate will be the major road link between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
Singleton Parkway is a divided four-lane north/south highway that also serves the city. This highway connects with I-40 and I-240 in Memphis via Austin Peay Highway and Covington Pike. All proposed I-69 routes will go through Millington's annexaton area.
The Paul Barret Parkway connects I-40 at Arlington with Millington. The section of Paul Barret Parkway between U.S. 51 and James K. Singleton Parkway (TN 204) is part of the National Highway System. The highway is named for Paul W. Barret, Sr., of Barretville, a prominent local politician from northern Shelby County in the 1940s. The speed limit on Paul Barret Pkwy. is 70 mph.
